Virginia Beach- Mary Black, age 72, passed away on Sunday November 2, 2008 in her home. She was a retired beautician and was Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Lowell Bray and is survived by her husband of 54 years Charles K. Black; three sons Charles Steven Black of Hampton, Robert G. Black and girl friend Sharon of Hampton and Thomas Larry Black and wife Janet of Smithfield, VA; grandson, Charles Brandon Black; mother Pauline Bray of Batesville, Arkansas; sister Janece More and husband Jack; brother Jimmy Bray and wife LaDene; and very special friends Sandra Morris and Jeannie Yarborough.
The family would like to extend a special Thanks to Mary’s Doctors, Dr. Michael Steinberg and the other Doctors and staff at Virginia Oncology for tending to her needs and making her as comfortable as possible.
The visitation will be held at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestas Chapel at 1801 Baltic Ave. Virginia Beach on Tuesday evening from6 to 7:30PM. Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Steve Gupton at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 PM with burial to follow at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery in Virginia Beach.
Charles and family, There are not enough words to say how sorry I am to hear of her passing,but she is so much better off and out of pain.I know you all will miss her and it will not be easy but the LORD will get you through.I am so glad that I got to talk to her, oh the memories that we have. Remember that our prayers are with you.
