Mary “Aunt Mae” Edwards, age 93, of Calcutta, OH passed away at the East Liverpool City Hospital on Sunday, March 9, 2014 following a brief illness.
Born in St. Clair Township on July 7, 1920, she was the daughter of the late N. Walker and L. Ethel Nickle Ingles. Mrs. Edwards had lived her entire life in the area, enjoyed running the family farm with her husband and was a homemaker in later years. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School, Class of 1930, and a member of the Longs Run Presbyterian Church.
She was married in 1943 to her husband, William L. Edwards, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Survivors include two nieces: Kathy Barnes and her husband Donald and Betty Jane Thomas of East Liverpool; one great nephew: Dony Barnes of East Liverpool, OH; one great niece: Chrissie Sciulli and her husband Ralph of Norton, OH and two great great nieces: Alyssa and Lilly Sciulli of Norton, OH.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Jean E. Thomas and Della I. Futhey.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 1 PM with Rev. Steve Cramer of the church and Rev. William Betteridge Retired officiating.
Burial will follow at United Presbyterian Cemetery of Calcutta.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 4-8 PM.
