TRACY, Mary Ann Comer, 78, formerly of Wheeling, W.Va. and Titusville, Fla., died Monday, June 9, 2008 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.

Mary was born September 29, 1929 in Glen Dale, W.Va., a daughter of the late Frederick and Lottie Gatewood Barnett. She was the former owner and operator of Tracy’s Beauty Salon, Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Tracy; four brothers, James, Dick, John and William Barnett; and two sisters, Nancy Barnett and Eileen O’Neil.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary “Bink” Lufft and her husband, Robert of Wheeling, Patricia Wilson and her husband, Butch of McMechen and Nancy “Lee Lee” Taylor of Florida; a brother, Franklin Barnett of Leesburg, Va.; three sisters, June Dist of California, Genevieve Schehl of Wheeling and Peggy Huber and her husband, George of Virginia; 7 grandchildren, Bob Bourne and his wife, Candy of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lynlee Murray Holder of Wheeling, Bill Wilson and his wife, Kim of McMechen, Michele Goddard and her husband, Russell of Wheeling, Rachel Bourne of Wheeling, Sherri Wilson of McMechen and Melissa Gross and her husband, Bobby of McMechen; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren, Donnellia Beazel of McMechen, Jennifer Nickerson of Wheeling and Corey W. Taylor of Wheeling; six step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, JoAnn and Bob LeMasters of Zanesville, Ohio and Lois Long of Wheeling.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, South Wheeling Chapel, 3828 Jacob Street, Wheeling, where funeral services will be held at 7 pm, with the Rev. Mark Zelewicz officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Nancy & family, I was saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. I can imagine how you must feel since my mother passed away recently and unexpectedly. You will always have a part of her with you. The sorrow will lessen, but will never be gone. I will pray for you and hope you can find peace in this.

Those of us who worked with Grandma Mary at THS know she was a wonderful person and will be missed by all. May God be with her family during this time.
