Mary Alexander, 88, of Bexley Park, Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Lafferty, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

She was born August 10, 1913 at Innsbruck, Austria, a daughter of the late Richard and Julia Chini.

She was a registered nurse and a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton ”Chinto” Alexander,and a brother Pio and his wife Mary Chini.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald and his wife Mary and Richard and his wife Marcia Alexander, both of Pickerington, Ohio, a daughter, Janice and her husband Calvin Hamrick of Columbus, Ohio, three sisters, Clementina Torma and Rita Salmen of Columbus, Ohio and Sophia Novey of Mentor, Ohio, grandchildren, Kelli Kermath, Julia Horn, Angie Parker, Richard Alexander, Jr., Ronald Alexander, Jr., and Nickolas Alexander, Chad Hamrick, Brian Hamrick, and Greg Hamrick, and six great grandchildren.

Friends will be received 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, February 7, 2002, at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 204 W. Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lafferty, Ohio, with Msgr. Jerry Calovini and Fr. Chester Pabin, the celebrants.

Burial follws at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Foundation.
