Mary A. Styrcula, 92, of Shank Road, St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Tuesday, August 17, 2009 at her home.
She was born on September 8, 1916 at New Lafferty, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Obertacz Haberny.
Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catolic Church, Fairpoint, Ohio and the Catholic Women’s Club of Fairpoint.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Styrcula, two brothers; Frank and Walter Haberny and three sisters; Sophie Wodarcyk, Rose Copas and Elsie Shipta.
Surviving are two daughters; Barbara Gillespie, St. Clairsville and Frances Styrcula, Martins Ferry, Ohio, two sisters; Anna Kolanski, Flushing, Ohio and Stella Gurecki, Cleveland, Ohio, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950, where a vigil service will be held at 3 PM.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Saturday at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairpoint, Ohio with Father Thomas Graven the celebrant.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairpoint, Ohio.
