Marvin A. “Rookie” Wilkerson, 87, passed away on June 29, 2008. Marvin was known affectionately by his grandchildren, nieces and nephews as Pee-Paw and was an avid Nascar fan. Marvin retired from Civil service after 35 years as an electrician; he also worked for the 3800 Condominiums for 28 years and the Military construction company known as the Seabees. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Vivian Capps Wilkerson and his parents Leonard A. and Vivian H. Wilkerson. Survivors include two daughters Jeanne White and Susie Falk, her husband Frank of Virginia Beach, four siblings William F. Wilkerson of N.C, Jeanette Wilkerson , Joyce Henry and Leonard A. Wilkerson all of Virginia Beach. Six grandchildren, Tracy Spara of Fla., Kelly Boldt of NC, Leigh Davenport, Michael Newman, Frankie and Chris Falk all of Virginia and eleven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at 2pm in Princess Anne Memorial Park with Rev. Robert Pittmen officiating. The family will greet friends from 6-7:30 Wednesday evening at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestas Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, 740 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23451-9886.
