BOWMAN, Marlene M. Spoto, 74, of Wheeling, WV, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Liza’s Place.
She was born December 29, 1937 in Wheeling, a daughter of Rose Marie Cerra Spoto and the late Charles C. Spoto of Wheeling, WV.
She was a 1956 graduate of Wheeling High School.
On Dec, 22, 1955 at St. Joseph Cathedral, she married the love of her life, the late Lt. Robert “Terry” Bowman, Ret. from Wheeling Fire Department, who died July 23, 1997.
Officiating over the marriage was Bishop Bernard W. Schmitt.
She was a member of St. Michael Parish in Wheeling, and a dear friend and employee at Micklas Meat Market.
It was always fun to be around Marlene; she loved to garden, avid Bingo player, and played bunko.
God has truly called His Angel home to Heaven.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a homemaker.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband and her father.
Surviving is three daughters, Sheri Lynn Falk of Winston-Salem, NC; Kelly Jean Evanko of Leland, NC; and her husband, Edward Michael Evanko Jr, Marcy Ann Bowman- Huntsman of Wheeling; six grandchildren, Edward Michael Evanko III, Amanda Huntsman-Loucks, Brittany Rachelle Evanko Ingledue and her husband Brian, Brandon Michael Ruckh, Cierra Nicole Huntsman and Chaz Robert Huntsman, her brother, Martin J. Spoto and a sister, Ellen Mae Spoto both of Wheeling; two great-grandchildren, Aleia Rose Evanko and Edward Michael Evanko IV.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m Saturday, January 28, 2012.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
