Santavicca, Mario, 86, of Wheeling, WV died Friday, November 21, 2008 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
Born in Italy on July 26, 1922, son of the late Julio and Concetta Santavicca.
He was a retired employee of the former Imperial Glass Corporation, a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, a former member of St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire, Ohio, a former member of Sons of Italy Lodge 754, and the Italian American Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Julia Colichio Santavicca in 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Durante Santavicca; daughters, Cathy Quenton Northcraft of Wheeling, and Jeanie Greg Ewart of Franklin, Tennessee; a sister, Maddalena Bernardi of Italy; and two granddaughters, Ariana and Briena Ewart.
Friends received 2-8 p.m. Sunday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, where vigil services will be held at 3:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2008 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, with Rev. Anthony Cincinnati as celebrant. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire, Oh.
