Beryl and I are so sorry to hear about Marie. Both she and your Dad were very nice neighbors at Riggscrest. We continued to send Christmas cards after they moved and then we moved to Florida and just sort of lost contact.

We lost our youngest child, Jaime, last July and haven’t recovered from that. Part of both of our hearts are torn apart with the loss.

Our hearts and prayers are with your family as you go thru the days ahead.

Hello Kathy, I very recently learned of you mom’s passing. I wanted to let you know how sorry I am for your loss. I do remember your mom as a pretty petit lady, with a sweet smile. And you know, that is really not a bad way in which to be remembered. I send positive thoughts to you and your family.

Kathy and Family,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I have so many memories of her. I remember her awesome chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies. She made the best I ever tasted. She was always kind and nice. She was always soft spoken. She always was positive and uplifting. I remember her reading the Bible often and going to Church and Church related activities. She was a awesome Mom not only to her children but to all of us who were at her house everyday as well when we were growing up. She allowed us to have many sleep-overs on your porch. She allowed us to shuck corn in the building behind your house on Smithfield Street for Halloween and pretended that she did not know or perhaps did not want to know why we would spend countless hours there. We were sorta mischievous but overall we turned out to be good adults and I am sure that she had a hand in that. She allowed us to be kids and have fun. She was a Mom to all of us who stayed countless hours at your house. She was kind to my family as well-I remember when my Dad was sick she would make him pies and oh how he loved his “sweets”. She was proud of all of her children. Family was her top priority as well as Church. I hope that she sees my Dad up in heaven as well and they share tales of the Neighborhood on Smithfield Street. I never dreamed that the day would come that we would be saying “good bye” to our parents. I guess I thought that they would live forever. Well, unfortunately that is not to be, but they will live forever in our hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss but I am sure that the pearly gates are wide open to accept your wonderful mom and on the other side will be your Dad waiting to meet her. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless each and every one of you.

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I remember her fondly from events at church. My mom dearly loved her and constantly raved about her wonderful Sunday School lessons! I guess they are learning together now. Sue

Our sons, Tim and Larry graduated the same year and were best friends. Marie was a wonderful person. I enjoyed her friendship so much especially when we attended school activities together. After she moved from our area I looked forward to hearing from her at Christmas as we always wrote a letter to include with our cards. She will be missed.
