PEGG, Margaret E. Redd, 68, of Moundsville, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling.
Margaret was born October 11, 1939 in Moundsville, a daughter of the late Robert and Geneva Redd. She was a member of Elks Lodge No. 282, Moundsville; the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post No. 3, Moundsville; the Moundsville Eagles Aerie No. 499; and the Loyal Order of Moose, No. 1087, Moundsville. She was also a John Marshall football grandma; a Marshall County Panther football grandma; and was an avid bowler and member of the W.I.B.C.
In addition to his parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Pegg in 1987; and a brother, Floyd Redd.
Margaret is survived by her four children; Dean Hartley, Jr. of Neffs, Ohio, Robert Hartley and his wife, Cyndie of Moundsville, Jennifer Hartley of Wheeling and Tonya Pegg of Moundsville; six step-children, Gary Allen Pegg and his wife, Carol of Limestone, Doug Pegg and his wife, Lisa of Cameron, Cindy Gray of Warwood, Candy Hill and her husband, Bob, Kim Bryan and her husband, John of Cameron and Keely Tierney and her husband, Michael of Florida; nine grandchildren, Jason, Amber and Derek Hartley, Desirae Harris, Billy Render, Shannon, Austin and Ciarra Pegg, and Casey Gray; a great-grandson, Christopher Matthews; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 7-9 pm, Thursday, and 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Friday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, March 1, 2008, with the Rev. Ronald Price officiating. Interment will be in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034..

Tonya & family,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I bowled with your Mom years ago … long before I had you at Sherrard Elementary! I did see your Mom this summer while I was home. She was so happy and bubbly .. as always! She loved life and she loved her family. She was a wonderful person and a true friend to all!

Tonya,

Our daughters cheered for the Panthers,mine on JV & yours on Bantam. Your mom was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met.She was always happy & smiling & I’ll miss “Grandma” as I called her this coming cheering season.She was one special lady & one proud grandma.Our prayers are with you and your family.
