Margaret Delores Griffith Baron, 91 Good Shepherd Nursing Home and East Paxton Avenue, Wheeling, died Tuesday June 12, 2001 at Wheeling Hospital.
Margaret was born November 20, 1909 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late William C. and Amelia M. Dieringer Griffith. She was a retired sales clerk for Stone & Thomas Department Stores, and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Baron; three brothers, William J., Albert T., and John C. Griffith; and five sisters, Amelia Fitzgerald, Madelyn Griffith, Mary Jane Ullam, Dorothy Moss, and Evelyn Wallace.
Surviving are two sons, Charles K. Baron of Norwich, Conn, and Philip J. Baron of Wheeling; two daughters, Dolores Williams of Cameron, WV, and Amelia A. Porter and her husband Don of Grove Port, OH; a sister, Catherine Miller of Short Creek; Fifteen Grandchildren, and twenty six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday June 14, 2001 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday June 15, 2001 at 10 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. H. Joseph Wilhelm as celebrant. Interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, WV.
