Virginia Beach – Margaret Anne Sands, 82, passed away on December 17, 2011. She was born on May 26, 1929 to the late Robert and Agnes Walker Sr. in Rome, Georgia. She attended Shorter College in Rome and graduated from Louisville Baptist Theological Seminary with a Bachelors Degree in Sacred Music. Mrs. Sands served as a Minister of Music at Ocean View Baptist Church and later at Azalea Baptist Church in Norfolk. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, John “Jack” Sands Jr., a son; John Sands III and his wife Vicky, their children Brian and Katie of Chesapeake, a daughter; Lisa Farabaugh and her husband Clark, and their children Chad and Casey of Virginia Beach, and a host of loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for memorial donations be made to: Azalea Baptist Church Building Fund 3314 E. Little Creek Road Norfolk VA 23518 in her name. A visitation and reception will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:30 in the Azalea Baptist Church and a funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm.
