MENNILLO, Marco, 92, of Wheeling, died Friday, August 21, 2009 in Wheeling Hospital.
Mr. Mennillo was born March 5, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Domenico and Catherine DeMastro Mennillo. He was retired from Conrail Railroad, with 40 years of service; and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Italian American Club, Elm Grove.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Frank Mennillo; and three sisters, Rose Eimer, Carmella DeGasperi and Mary Bernardi.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Virginia Petrini Mennillo; a son, Domenico “Butch” Mennillo and his wife, Julie Ann of Warwood; and a sister, Toni Furline of Warwood; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Mark Mennillo and his wife, Jill of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Heather Mennillo of Morgantown, W.Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashley and Dax Mennillo.
Friends will be received from 4-7 pm, Sunday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Monday, August 24, 2009 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Edwin Keel as celebrant. Entombment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling.
