Every Thursday for 9 years, Mrs. Marx drove to my house to give me my piano lesson. Although I have not seen her for many years, I have often thought of her, especially when I sit down to play or pull out an old music book that still has her handwriting and her signature foil star stickers in it. I did not know until today of her passing. I am saddened by it and will have you all in my prayers. Mrs. Marx will always hold a special place in my heart.

Warmly,

Lynn,

One of my favorite memories of your mother was when she was directing the choir for a special event. They were practicing after Bible Study one night, and she was sitting at the piano and wanted to tell my dad something and she addressed him as “Mr. Pickett”…not Vernon, but Mr. Pickett… Your mom was very special to a lot of people and she will be missed.

Lynne,

Your mom was a really fun teacher for organ. We had lessons each Friday evening at Bellaire Music. People would stop by to listen, and she would just beam! She was a wonderful and grand lady. I appreciated her kindness and music skills.
