Marguerite Lucas Flowers, 92, of Wheeling, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital.
She was born July 7, 1914 at Jewett, Ohio, the daughter of the late George Walter and Frances Conway Lucas.
Marguerite was a registered nurse for 41 years at the Ohio Valley Medical Center and a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wheeling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Lucas and her sister, Nora Kathleen Blankenship.
Marguerite is survived by her husband, Lyle Norman Flowers; her daughter, Patricia Flowers of Columbus, Ohio; her son Thomas Renee Flowers of Elyria, Ohio; her three grandchildren John Rine Zabanal, Lucas Flowers, and Casey Flowers, all of Elyria.
Friends will be received at the McCoy-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 44-15th Street, Wheeling on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Services will be held at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1409 Chapline Street, Wheeling on Monday at 11:00 am, with the Reverend Deborah Gabel, officiating. Interment will follow in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard, W. Va.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Margueriteís death. I vividly recall her kind gentleness, her quiet humor, and her thoughtful insights. Her presence in my life has been lasting. I was so very, very fond of her and I shall miss her.
