Madeline L. Clukey, 88, of Virginia Beach, VA joined the angels in heaven on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 surrounded by her family. From her birth in Currituck County, NC on August 20, 1924, until her death on Saturday she showered the people around her with love and wisdom. The daughter of Iva Burnett and John Lindsay, she was raised in North Carolina and married her soul mate, Harold Clukey Sr. on January 21, 1944. She and Harold raised three children together; Harold Jr., Jo-Ann, and Larry. Family was the most important thing, but after the children were grown she joined her husband in his dental lab and took care of the books; making sure that the office ran smoothly. They retired together and spent many of their later years on the water, aboard one of their many boats. Madeline was one-in-a-million and adored by many. She is survived and honored by her children; Harold and Diana Clukey, Jo-Ann and Jeff Wilson, Larry and Linda Clukey, grandchildren; John Wilson, Jason and Belinda Wilson, Ashleigh and Rick Fiero, Kammeron and Tom Stumpf, Chad and Colleen Clukey, Ryan Clukey, Taylor Watrous, Summer King, John T. King IV, and great grandchildren; Alexis, R.J. and Madeline as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Harold Clukey Sr., her parents, sister and two brothers. Madeline will be remembered as a bright and shining light in our lives. Memorial Service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, on Saturday October 20, 2012 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters at PO Box 2156, Norfolk, VA, 23501, in honor of Madeline. We will always carry your memory in our hearts!
