Lydia Elvira Hofmann, 75, of Chestnut Hill Road, passed away in the evening on Oct. 24, 2001, at Seaside – The Health Center at Atlantic Shores.
Born in Milan, Italy, while her father served as the local director for Siemans, she grew up multi-lingual and well suited for her career as an interpreter, speaking five languages. Her passion for languages and thirst for knowledge is a legacy she has passed to her children. Her strong faith, charitable and caring nature caused her to be loved and cherished by all who knew her – even if only briefly. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her beloved husband, Paul A. Hofmann, she is survived by five children – daughter Dory Hofmann of Virginia Beach, daughter Cordelia Wood and husband James of Cocoa Beach, Florida, daughter Angela Hofmann and husband Anthony Skipper of Alexandria, Virginia, son Paul F. Hofmann and wife Candice of New Bern, North Carolina, and daughter Sylvia Cole and husband Dennis of Virginia Beach; two sisters – Dorothea Vogel of Bad D
