I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Luke Zien,
He was a sweet and caring soul and a good friend of mine when I lived in Wheeling in my 20’s. I spent so many nights sitting and talking to him and his wonderful family at Zien’s. After I moved away, I always stopped into Zien’s when it was still there or Camelot to say hi when I was in town and see his smiling face:Rest in peace my friend.
I remember playing baseball ,football in the real south park..rest in peace,Luke
I was so sorry to hear about Luke. He was such a kind person. I could always count on Luke no matter what. He will be greatly missed.
I’m sorry for your loss Walter & Delores. Luke was a good friend,
He will be missed. rest in peace my friend!
I’m so very sorry to hear of Luke’s passing. He was a dear and wonderful friend. I will miss him very much. Way to soon.
Luke I’m going to miss you buddy. Always entertaining. Can’t count how many serious in depth conversations we had about The Beatles and The Stones.
Luke was a gentle soul and a champion of the underdog. He and I were friends early in life, and I was always glad to see him when I came back to town. My wife and I were blessed to have Luke in our lives when we did. I am sure we are not alone in feeling his loss, but smiling with his memory.
Luke, Although I was young when we used to come up North to visit, I always looked forward to coming to your house and especially loved it when you took me out back to the garage apartment to play pool. I always thought of you as my cool cousin! You will be sorely missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing you.
My heart aches for Aunt Bibi, Uncle Walter and Mark because I know it will be the most difficult for them.
Your in a place now where there is no pain or fear, only peace. Safe travels and God speed, and say hello to my dad if you run into him on your journeys. He’ll be glad to see you!
Love you all,
Bryan
Luke, growing up you were more than just my cousin. You were a great friend. I always looked forward to our holiday trips to Wheeling and the great times we had.
I’ll never forget the first Christmas when we were old enough to be dropped off downtown with a bit of money for lunch and a city full of Christmas store windows. We couldn’t have been happier or felt bigger if we had been cruising the boulevards of Manhattan in a limo.
You were always funny, fun and very kind-hearted. I’m so glad we got to catch up again in recent years. We will all miss you! Rest in peace in heaven!
Luke, It has been many years. My family loved the family restaurant that you work with your father. May you be at peace in the loving arms of our Father in heaven. Say hello to my dad Tom Petry for me. Thank you for all the laughs when I was just a kid. May your family find rest and peace in the fact that one day there will be no fear or tears and all pain is gone. And you are experiencing that before all of us.
Luke;
You will be missed by all of us. My heart goes out to your mom, dad and brother. Rest in peace.
Your cousin
Christopher Zien
My sincere condolences to the family of Luke. Denny Albaugh
My sincerest sympathy & prayers to Luke’s family. He was one of the most thoughtful & kindhearted people I have ever met. May you find some comfort in knowing how much everyone liked him.
My sweet cousin Luke, so many happy memories of our trips “up north” and vacations together. Myself, my brothers’ and you and Mark playing in the park in front of your house and having family cookouts at Aunt Bar’s. You were funny and kind and gentle even as a child. My heart breaks for Aunt Bibi, Uncle Walter and Mark as well as all our other cousins and Aunts and Uncles. I hope you are with my father, Uncle Fred! He loved you and Mark very much. Rest in Peace Luke.
One of my few true friends. Wheeling lost an icon.
Our deepest sympathy to you all. Luke was a gentle giant. He was kind and considerate. Last year we spoke with him at length one evening and he greatly expressed his deep
love and gratitude for his family. We know he is at peace and we will all meet again one day. God bless
We are so sorry to hear about Luke.
I have many great memories of spending time with him and his love for the Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Lions and yes, Stroh’s Beer.
He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
