Virginia Beach – Lucille Foard, 96, a native of Norfolk, VA, a graduate of Maury High School, departed this life on January 15, to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to reunite with her husband of 67 years, R. Walker Foard, Jr., her parents, Ada and Frank Walker, her five sisters and two brothers.
Left to celebrate her life are her brother, Graydon Walker; her four children: Bob Foard Susan of Roanoke, Anne Foard Cluverius Mil of Chesapeake, Susan Foard Wagoner Dan and Peggy Foard Evans of Virginia Beach; her 15 grandchildren: Beverly Ramsey, Lane Foard, Mark Foard, Amy Craven, Laura France, Kari Weber, Jennifer Radgowski, Ryan Wagoner, Rebecca Wagoner, Heather Maggi, Aleah Clark, Katelyn Bernard, Curtis Graham, Brant Evans and Justin Creekmore; and 22 great-grandchildren with another on the way. Lucille was an inspiring example to all who knew her through her devoted service to God in several churches throughout her life as well as many civic organizations.Lucille loved life and lived it fully. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, teaching Sunday School, leading Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, square dancing and participating in Golden Olympics, winning medals in city, state and national competitions.
The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home at 5792 Greenwich Rd, Virginia Beach, 23462 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.Sunday, January 19. A service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, January 20, at 11 a.m. at Providence Presbyterian Church, 5497 Providence Rd, Virginia Beach, 23464. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery will be private.
