Obituary for:
Lory W. “LW” Ice
Age: 84

Lory W. “LW” Ice, 84 of Park Avenue, East Liverpool died at the Medical Center in Beaver, PA on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Smithfield, WV on January 8, 1924, a son of the late Arthur and Florence M. Young Ice.

Moving to East Liverpool from Smithfield in 1942, LW worked 39 years as a platform man at the former Crucible Steel until his retirement in 1981 and served with the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre.

His wife, Mildred June Adkins Ice, whom he married on February 20, 1960 died on May 29, 2004.

Three sons: Robert W. Ice and his wife, Rhonda of East Liverpool, Ronald A. Ice of Colorado and David Miller of Wallace, WV; one daughter: Darlene Rolya and her husband Mike of East Liverpool; two grandchildren: Kayla and Andrew Ice both of East Liverpool and several nieces and nephews survive him.

Besides his parents and wife, one son: Marvin Paul Ice; one brother: Roy W. Ice and two sisters: Gladys V. Ice and Edith L. Wheeler preceded him in death.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, March 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Paul Sturm officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery where the Tri State Burial Group and the Honor Guard of the West Virginia National Guard will accord military honors.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM

BOBBY,DARLENE AND FAMILY,

I HAVE MANY FOND MEMORIES OF LORY AND JUNE AND WILL ALWAYS TREASURER THEM.LORY WAS ALWAYS A VERY SPECIAL UNCLE TO ME.

Sharing my condolences to all of you in the loss of your dad. I wish I had known him, but only have a couple of memories from years past. I am Roy’s youngest daughter. I won’t be able to attend the services,but will have you in my thoughts.
