Lewis "Kube" Kovachic, 88, of Fairpoint-Maynard Road, St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 28, 2006 at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV.
He was born May 3, 1918 in Kinsman, Ohio, a son of the late John and Frances Terhlen Kovachic.
Kube was a retired coal miner for Consol Energy Coal Company and a WWII Army Veteran.
He was Catholic by faith and a member of the Fairpoint Polish Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers; John, Anthony, Frank, Joseph, Leo and Albert "Sam" Kovachic, and five sisters; Frances Babic, Jennie Molivitz, Mary Kovachic, Caroline Babic and Bertha Jendrusik.
Surviving is his wife of sixty-two 62 years, Margaret "Edna" Pilgrim Kovachic, two daughters; Diana and her husband Jerry Norwood of Bridgeport, Ohio and Bonnie Grover of St. Clairsville, Ohio, three granddaughters: Kristie and her husband Michael Busby, Dr. Allison Norwood, and Stephanie Norwood, and three great-grandchildren; Ryan, Matthew and Brooke Busby.
Friends will be received from 4 PM to 7 PM, Thursday, June 29, 2006, at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950, where services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM, with Father Thomas Graven officiating. Interment follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
