Lewis J. Mitchell, 78, of North Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Bellaire, OH, died Saturday, September 6, 2008 in Las Vegas.

He was born November 23, 1929 in Bellaire, a son of the late John and Kalliope Lambros Mitchell.

Lewis was the former owner operator of the Belmont Bar and Restaurant, Bellaire, was a member of the Church of the Life-giving Fountain, Martins Ferry, the American Legion Post 52, Bellaire and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by a brother George Mitchell.

Surviving is his wife, Ethyl “Tillie” Day Mitchell, 2 children; Mimi Province and her husband Scott of Las Vegas, NV, John Paul Mitchell and his wife Debbie of Bellaire, a sister, Anna Gianakas of Simpsonville, SC, and 4 grandchildren; Alexandra and Lewis Mitchell and Mitchell and Lexi Province.

Friends will be received on Friday, September 12, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441-37th St., Bellaire, where services will be held on Saturday at 11:00am with Rev. Fr. Spiros Kehayes officiating.

Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Renal Foundation.
