YORKTOWN – Leslie M. R. McWithey, 40, of Yorktown, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007.
Leslie was a Hampton Roads native, who delighted in spending time with her two sons, scrapbooking, and assisting at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was the church webmaster and a member of the Altar Guild and choir.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of nine years, Brian McWithey; two sons, Thomas and Stephen; parents, Carole and Dennis Ray of Hertford, N.C.; two brothers, Tim Ray of Virginia Beach and Chris Ray of Portland, Maine; and 14 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Riverside-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 7415 River Road, Newport News. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6812 River Road, Newport News.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the McWithey Scholarship Fund at Trinity Lutheran School or the American Cancer Society.
