LeRoy Hall Jr.

February 28, 1941 - April 16, 2015

02/28/1941 - 04/16/2015

On April 16, 2015 LeRoy Hall Jr. went to be with our Lord and Saviour. He was born to LeRoy and Polly Hall on February 28, 1941 in Delbarton, West Virginia. The oldest of six siblings, he is survived by one brother, Guy William Hall. LeRoy is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Patricia. In addition, he left three sons: LeRoy III and Rebecca, Robert and Lisa, and William and Kimberly. His greatest joy was spending time with LeRoy IV, Rachel, Todd, Grace, William Jr., Shelby and David.

He proudly served in the 82nd Airborne and was a member of IBEW Local 80. He worked at Norfolk Assembly for 32 years where he served as apprenticeship director and skilled trades Chairman of UAW Local 919.

Our father was a lifetime member and supporter of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church where he proudly served as a deacon. Woodcarvings abound in the house. Countless hours have been spent creating puzzles, birds, decoys, and of course his famous “boots”. His storytelling, sense of humor and wisdom will be missed by all that knew him.

The family will receive friends and family Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 7-9pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd., Virginia Beach. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10:00am at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church, 2430 Azalea Garden Rd., Norfolk. A burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethany Free Will Baptist Church. Condolences may be made at altmeyer.com.

Dear Mrs. Hall, Leroy, William & all family memebers,

In my life I’ve been very blessed to have known a very small handful of truly genuine Great men. Leroy was one, if not, the best I’ve had the extreme good fortunate to know!

Sadly I’m living out of Virginia & didn’t learn of Leroy’s passing until today. Unfortunately for me, my life will never be as full as it could have been if I could have celebrated Leroy’s joyful and outstanding life with you-all, his loving family.

My sincere heartfelt condolenences to each of you, I only wish I could have been there to offer them in person.

As Leroy used to like to tell me, “there are only 2 kinds of people, electricians & those that wish they were!” All I can add is that Leroy always set himself apart from all others including electricians!

Pat, other than work, all Leroy ever talked about was you & the family.

God bless each and every one of you.

LeRoy will always be remembered by his love and devotion to our Lord. His prayers at church always thanked God for picking him up from the miry clay and putting him on the solid rock–I can hear him now! We love you and your boys, Pat.

My condolences to the Hall family. Leroy was a kind soul who helped me and many others in the apprenticeship program at Ford. His intelligence, integrity, and easy going style will not be forgotten. To my brothers Leroy III, William, and James and all the Halls, I wish you peace during this sad time. God bless.

To Pat and the Hall boys, I am so very sorry for the loss of your husband and father. I didn’t know him real well, but enough to know that he was a very kind and loving man and it was a pleasure to know him. May the angels wrap their arms around your family in this time of grief.

To the Hall family,

Your father was one of the nicest men I had the pleasure to work with at Ford. He was gentle, kind and very giving to everyone. His laugh was addictive and I am sure he will be missed by all of you. I am praying for comfort and peace for you. Heaven truly received a new angel. God bless you all.

Y’all are in my thoughts and prayers. When Daddy passed away, I took great comfort in the knowledge that he was loved by many, left a legacy of hard work, loving others, and that I would see him again one day. May this same peace fill your hearts until we’re all together again. I like to think that there’s Bethany men’s breakfast going on in Heaven right about now!

In his love,
