Leroy Davis, 65, of Wheeling, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 5, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 26, 1946 in Woodstock, Alabama the son of the late Jimmie Davis and Rosebud Miller. He received his Doctorate in Education at the University of the Philippines. Leroy is a retired Captain of the US Air Force, a retired principal for the State of Ohio, a member of the Masonic fraternal organization, and a member of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by six siblings: Zenobia, Alfreda, James Edward, Laura Lee, and two others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Remedios Davis, and six siblings: Marvin, Edward, Thomas, Gloria Jean, Donald, and David. He was a supportive father of seven: Vincent Todd, Angela, Scott, Michelle, Heather, Crescent, and Crystal and a caring grandfather of six: Elighawan, Xzavier, Vincent Ross, Leon Jr., Meara, and Escada.
Friends will be received on Tuesday November 8, 2011 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV, from 9am until the time of celebration of life services for Leroy at 11am. Interment with full military honors will follow at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd., Bridgeville, PA.
