WADE, Leona Mae Thompson, 96, of McMechen WV, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 at home. Born in Littleton WV on June 10, 1912, Leona was the daughter of the late Alva and Stessie Thompson. She was a member of the Church of God, McMechen WV and was a employee of the former Fostoria Glass of Moundsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Wade; her daughter in law, Edna Wade; one grandson, Greg Wade; her brother, Ancle Thompson and her sister, Bernadine Loudenslager.
Surviving are two sons, Robert G. Wade Jr. of Carbondale Kansas, and Jerry Wade and his wife Nancy of Glen Dale, WV; her grandchildren, Diana, Gary, Robert II, Delena, Michael, Anna, Jerry, Holly, and Marc; 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall St. McMechen, WV, on Monday from 6-8 pm where services will be held on Tuesday at 11am with Bernard Crow officiating. Interment will follow at McMechen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Dale Volunteer Fire Department. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at altmeyer.com.
