KORDACK, Leona H. Gosnell, 87, of Mozart, Wheeling, died Saturday, May 3, 2008 in Steubenville, Ohio.

Leona was born September 5, 1920 in Dillonvale, Ohio, a daughter of the late Willard and Lula Meager Gosnell. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church; the Bible Study at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church; and was a volunteer at Wheeling Hospital at Medical Park.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew George Kordack, Sr. in 1990; and a sister, Wilma Hogan.

Leona is survived by four children, Diane Melko and her husband, Dave of Mozart, Judy Griffin and her husband, Joe of Bethlehem, Andrew George Kordack, Jr. and his wife, Donna of McMechen and Gary Allen Kordack and his wife, Donna of Mozart; a sister, Shirley Capiot of Wheeling; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9 pm, Tuesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, with the Rev. Larry Wrenn as celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

Andy, Sorry to hear of your Moms passing. She was a great lady. Chris and I both thought very highly of her. I would have attended the services, but I’m out of town in southern West Virginia until Friday. Hope that “Mona” and

We are so sorry to hear about Aunt Leona, I would have loved to be there with you all at this time of your loss but due to my health, it is not possible.
