Dear Shasteen Family,

I am very sorry to hear about your loss the news hit me like a brick. I will always treasure my years on Junior Fair Board. I looked up to Larry as a dear friend and father-like figure. His support and interest in my life during my tenure on JFB, through college and into my professional life was greatly appreciated and showed me really what it means to be a mentor.

May your memories be your comfort in this time of sorrow.

I just want to say how sorry I am to hear about the loss of Larry. Yall probably dont remember me because I have been gone from Ohio since 1987. I spent many hours with Larry when he had his hunting and fishing business in Calcutta. We would order a pizza and set and talk for hours about the one that got away…. My condolences to the family

I will always have a place in my heart for Larry. Jason and I were able to spend time with Larry while searching for our house. We will always cherish that time with him and appreciate all of the time and help he gave us. More importantly, Larry was part of my childhood. During 4-H he was a joy to be around. He made sure to let my sisters and I know that he was proud of us and was always interested in our lives. I love you Larry and I hope you are giving my sister a big hug right now!

Im very sory to for your loss. Lary was the light of the horse shows. I always looked forward to seeing him. He always got along with everyone and always fought for us kids, and we all admired him for that. We All learned a great deal from him and hopfully us youth that knew him can carry on his ideas and teachings to the youth who never had the chance to know him. Fair and horse shows will not be the same but he will remain in our hearts and memories.

God Bless

Thanks so much for sharing Larry with all of us. He is so special to so many people. I have many special memories that my family and 4-H family will always treasure. Larry’s sparkling blue eyes in his red suit, our many, many 4-H activities and most of all, his love and friendship.

Kathy, Krista, Lisa & Family,

Larry touched the hearts of many youth, including myself. Even in his time of pain, he could always find a way to brighten my day. He was a great person, a wonderful friend, and I looked at him in the same manor that I did my own grandfather. I am thankful for every moment that I was able to spend with Larry. He meant so much to me and so many others and he will truly be missed by all. My sympathy goes out to all of you.

Sorry to hear of your loss. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Larry was a wonderful person who alway’s had a kind word to say. 4H won’t be the same without him. I’ll alway’s remember him riding around on the golf cart during fair. I use to bug him for rides and he would always let me hop on an take me where I needed to go. I’ve never met a more wonderful person with such a huge heart. He will be missed but never forgotten. God bless.
