Larry E. Jeffers, 65 of Shadyside, Ohio died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Valley Hospice Center South’s Liza’s Place in Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was born December 30, 1947 in Bellaire, Ohio a son of the late Woodrow W. and Elizabeth McGuire Jeffers.
Larry was a graduate of Powhatan High School Class of 1965, and a veteran of the US Army Reserves. He worked for the North American Coal Corporation and the Central Shop with his father, Woody. Larry retired in March from the Knight Manufacturing in Shadyside, Ohio.
Larry was a brilliant electrician and mechanic, following in his father’s footsteps. He loved fishing, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his two children, Jennifer Kay Todd Schau and John Jeffers all of Shadyside, Ohio, two sisters, Nancy Jim Chambers and Cathy Tom Carpenter and one brother, Jeff Theresa Jeffers all of Powhatan Point, Ohio. Also six grandchildren, Breanne, Kaitlyn, Peyton, Lehney, Kadence and Koree and sixteen nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, Ohio on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm where services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with his brother-in-law, Tom Carpenter officiating. Final arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
Powhatan Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Full Military Honors on Saturday at 10:30 am at the funeral home.
