Lance McKinley Ott, 58, died on January 7, 2003.

Lance loved traveling with his wife, was an accomplished pilot and a computer wiz. He earned his A & P mechanic by self-study, he earned his private pilot instructor, commercial IFR and twin engine at the Navy Flying Club. He loved his children and grandchildren greatly. He served his country well for four years in the U.S. Coast Guard. A very methodical guy-he could fix anything. His bear hugs, his smiles and his presence will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ott; three children, Lindsay Stapleton, Kelly Ott and Paul Ott; two grandchildren, Skylar and Gracie; sister Donna K. Eason; step-father, Wilhelm J. Kristiansen. He was predeceased by his father, Charles Ott and his mother, Ann Kristiansen.
The family will receive friends at the home on Saturday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A memorial service will be held at Tabernacle Church of Norfolk, 7000 Granby Street at 11:00am Monday, January 13, 2003. A graveside service will be held on Monday at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 1:00pm.
Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dear Marilyn & family, I was amazed to read in the newspaper this morning about Lance’s passing. Whether this was sudden or the result of an illness, I pray for you the peace of God which passes all understanding. In heaven there is no time, so in the eternal view, we are already there together. Love, Susan, Tom, Noel & Evan Kidd
