Kenneth E. "Kenny" Shannon, age 53 of Toronto, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the home of his mother.

Born August 17, 1950 in Steubenville, he is a son of Jesse Harmon Shannon and Lorraine Sprowl. Kenny attended the New Somerset Methodist Church; he was employed as an Auto Technician at Bill Luke Chrysler in Phoenix, Arizona. He enjoyed antique cars, wood crafting, bowling, and roses from his rose garden.

He is preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Kersey.

Kenny’s survivors include, his wife, Mrs. Shirley Jean Pinkerton Shannon whom he married May 27, 1972 and resides at their home in Toronto. His mother, Mrs. Lorraine McCourt Sprowl and her husband Rolland of Toronto. His father Jesse H. Shannon of Amsterdam. Two daughters, Mrs. Kimberly Moore and her husband brian, and Miss Crystal Shannon, both of Toronto. Two brothers, Harold Rotteger and his wife Diane of Phoenix, Arizona and Jesse Lee Shannon of Amsterdam. Four sisters, Mrs. Nancy Bowling and her husband Charles of Phoenix, Mrs. Wanda Messel and her husband Kenneth of Georgia, Ms. Reba Kellogg of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Lori Brown and her husband Joseph of Tennessee. Three Grandsons Jeremy, Zackary, and Jacob Moore of Toronto and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 from 2-4 & 7-9P.M. At the Clarke Funeral Home-302 Main St. Toronto – 740-537-1234/ 800-588-1446.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at 1:00P.M.with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery.
