KATHRYN PAULINE ”KATIE” MAJZUN SAMPSON, 71 of 50 East 37th Street, Shadyside, Ohio, died Friday December 21, 2001 at Belmont Community Hospital,

Bellaire, Ohio.

She was born April 2, 1920 in Bellaire , daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Horvath Majzun.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Shadyside. Katie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be missed by all her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. ”Mike” Sampson, Sr. on March 21, 2000; a granddaughter, Melissa Sampson and two brothers, Joseph and Martin Majzun.

Surviving are three sons, Ernest Calvin Sampson, Jr.and his wife, Carol of Saugus, Mass.; Joseph Nolan Sampson of Shadyside and Gary Sampson of Peabody, Mass;one daughter, Mary Kathryn Jenkins and her husband Gary of Salem, Mass.; one sister, Mary Novak of Willow Grove, Ohio; two brothers, John Majzun of Milton, Florida and Paul Majzun of Canton, Ohio. Also five grandsons, Michael, Christopher, and Nicholas Sampson all of Saugus, Mass. and Matthew and Stephen Jenkins of Salem,Mass. and several nieces and nephews and friends.

Katie’s family will receive friends at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside,Ohio on Friday, December 28, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM where services will be held on Saturday, December 29 at 11 AM with the Rev. Donald Perks officiating. Interment in the Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Friends are invited to the Community Room at the Shadyside Municipal Building following the committal services.
