ROUSH, Karl W., 81, of Wheeling, died Monday, May 13, 2002, in Crestview Health Care Center.
He was born Oct. 6, 1920, son of the late Harry and Lilley Mae Roush.
He was employed by Spic & Span Odorless Cleaners.
He was a former musician and soloist for Wheeling Steel Hour Radio Show, that aired on WWVA in the late 1940’s. His stage name was Carlo Ross. He was a bassist and well-known entertainer throughout the Ohio Valley. he was a former member of Musicians Local #142, WHEELING.
He will be sadly missed by his customers and employees of Spic & Span through his jovial ways and kind-hearted manner. His family has suffered a great loss.
He was a Protestant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Parnell Roush, in 1999; a daughter, Susan Rae Roush; two brothers, Raymond and Kenneth Roush.
Surviving are four children, Two sons, Mark P. and Karl Michael Roush, both of Wheeling, two daughters, Sondra McElwain and her husband, Alan, and Lesa Fisher and her husband, Paul, all of Wheeling, eight grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling, where services will be held at 11am Friday, with the Rev. Glen Baker, Jr. officiating. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
