Age: 80
June D. “Peggy” Jewell, 80 of Lincoln Place, Salem, OH died at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 following a brief illness. She was born in East Liverpool, OH on June 3, 1928, a daughter of the late James S. and Maria Henkel Merriman.
Living her entire life in this area, she moved from Wellsville, OH to Salem in 1981. She was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Three sons: Bruce Lee Jewell of East Liverpool, OH, John David Jewell of Pineville, LA and Scott Wayne Jewell of Salem, OH; three daughters: Darlene Lawson of Dry Prong, LA, Maxine Mason of Salem, OH and Barbara Ann Maines of Lisbon, OH; one brother: Richard Merriman of East Liverpool, OH; one sister: Elsie Merriman of East Liverpool, OH; eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren survive her.
Besides her parents, four brothers: James “Bus”, Harry, Charles and Harold Merriman as well as one sister: Gladys Merriman preceded her in death.
No visitation or services are planned.
Burial will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
