WALLACE, Julius M. Sr., 70, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, formerly of Wheeling, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Ohio Valley Medical Center Wheeling. He was born March 28, 1931, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Junius and Ether Butler Wallace. He was a retired employee of the former Wheeling Closure Plant and was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Mr. Wallace was also a member of the Wheeling American Legion Post #89, and Wheeling Elks Panhandle Lodge #74. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Lad Sawyer, and a grandson, Aarich Wallace. Surviving are two sons, Julius M. Shotgun Wallace Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Wheeling, and Michael Wallace and his wife, Kimberly, of Wheeling; two Daughters, Arletta J. Wallace of Wheeling, and Leanora Wallace of Wheeling; his former wife, Barbara A. Wallace of Wheeling; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins. Friends will be received from 3-5 and 7-9 Tuesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, with Rev. Donald Pitts officiating. Interment in Stone Church Cemetery, Elm Grove. Wheeling American Legion Post #89 will hold services Tuesday at 7:30 p.m at the Funeral Home.
