Josephine Carcione Olive, 88, of Wheeling, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born Aug. 10, 1913 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose Florio Carcione.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elm Grove. She retired from the Wheeling Steel Corrugating plant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. ”Jack” Olive in 1976; three brothers, Rocco, James and Lawrence Carcione; four sisters, Frances Pagot, Agnes Feeney, Theresa Howells and Mary Marchlenski.
Surviving are a brother, Samuel Carcione of Wheeling; a sister, Angela Clark of Lorain, Ohio; a niece, Cynthia Marchlenski Perring and her husband, Michael of Wheeling; numerous other nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces.
She was a loving and giving person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends, especially Jacob Dougherty, the Art and Mary Kerns family and Julia Estep.
Friends received from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling. Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. H. Joseph Wilhelm, S.M., as celebrant. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
