Joseph S. DeGenova, 96 of Belmont Street, Bellaire, Ohio died on Thursday February 13, 2003 at his home.

He was born July 31, 1906 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late
Felix and Archangelina Vitale DeGenova.

Joe was a retired employee of the State of Ohio Liquor Stores in Bellaire, Bridgeport, and Martins Ferry and the former Archibald Hardware Store in Bellaire. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, where he served as an usher, Madonna Crusaders, St. John Alumni Association, Knights of Columbus Council 1246, American Legion Post 52, Sons of Italy Lodge 754 and the IAC all of Bellaire. He was a US Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, an infant brother, Enrico, Fr. Louis and Feliz DeGenova and three sisters, Sister Theresa Mary Anita, Sister Louis Ann Ernesta and Amelia Strussion.

Surviving are his wife, Malvina Damiani DeGenova, three sons, Dr. Henry DeGenova and his wife, Rosalie of Bonita Springs, Florida; Ray DeGenova and his wife Jeannie of Shadyside, and Joe DeGenova and his wife Mary of Bellaire; one brother, Dr. Gerard DeGenova of St. Genieve, Mo. Also eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 441-37th Street Bellaire on Friday from 2 to 8 PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass wil be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 AM at the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire with Monsignor Gene W. Mullett, the
Celebrant. Entombment in the Guardian Angel Mausoleum at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire.

Vigil services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 2:15 PM Sons of Italy Lodge 754 will conduct services on Friday at 7:30 PM.
