Otte, Joseph R., 94, of Cameron, WV, died Monday, October 29, 2012 at home.
He was born September 8, 1918 in Marshall County, WV, a son of the late Richard J. and Mamie Hazlett Otte.
Mr. Otte was a farmer and retired employee of the former Allied and Olin Chemical Co.; a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII; a member of the Knights of Columbus Post #1907, the American Legion, the VFW Post 3655, McMechen, the Farm Bureau and St. Jude Catholic Church, Glen Dale, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant brothers; a brother, Thomas L. Otte; a sister, Mary Ruth Otte.
Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Thelma G. Chambers Otte; a son, Richard Barbara Otte of Proctor, WV; four daughters, Patricia Richard Foster of Indiana, Rebecca Ronald Yoho of Cameron, Caroline David Pentzien of Clifton, VA, and Nancy Gary Cunningham of Moundsville, WV; a brother, Hubert C. “Bud” Jane Otte of Glen Dale; a sister, Gladys “Betty” Key of Glen Dale; six grandchildren, Holly Pete West, Stacey Vande Linde, Cynthia Vande Linde, Leah Yoho, Joey Yoho and Jessica Otte; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where a vigil service will be held at 6:30 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Rev. Ranjan Ekka, TOR as celebrant.
Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, with military honors presented by the Moundsville Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church.

I am so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. We were neighbors,friends and their 5 kids and my 5 were good friends.Joe and Thelma gave “neighbor” a great meaning.My sympathies are with all of you. Mrs. Lora M. Burt
