JOSEPH M. SHERMAN 93 of Raleigh, North Carolina, formerly of Bellaire, Ohio died Monday July 20, 2009 at the Oaks of Carolina in Raleigh, North Carolina.

He was born May 17, 1916 in Pomeroy, Ohio a son of the late Ralph and Chlore Mace Sherman.

Joe was a retired maintenance supervisor for the former Bellaire City Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn J. Milliken Sherman on October 26, 1993 and a brother, Ralph Sherman.

Surviving are three children, Jill Sherman and Kimi Paul Himes all of Raleigh, North Carolina and Gary Sandra Sherman in Minnesota and one sister, Mary Soland of Bellaire, Ohio. Also five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services and interment were held on Saturday at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.

Arrangements by the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio.

Hi Jill & family,

Diana called me yesterday to tell me about your dad. I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other! I was glad to hear you & Kim are still in the same area. Hope to see you at a reunion someday.

KIMI-SO SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR DAD.I ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM FOR HIS QUITENESS BUT ALSO FOR HIS HUMOR.ALSO I ALWAYS THINK ABOUT US MAKING CHOCOLATE ICE CUBES FROM THE MILK HE BROUGHT HOME FROM THE DAIRY!!!!LOTS OF FUN MEMORIES MADE AT YOUR HOUSE WITH YOUR DAD AND MOM.JUST WANTED TO LET YOU AND YOUR FAMILY KNOW YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS.TAKE CARE.
