Joseph C. Mac McCluskey, Jr., 81, of Allen Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Friday, August 29, 2008.
He was born November 6, 1926 in Lafferty, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Sophie Pelka McCluskey.
Mac was a WWII and Korean War Air Force veteran and retired Sergeant from the Air Force, then went to work for the Air Force at the Rickenbaucker Base in Columbus, Ohio as a butcher. He was Catholic by faith. Mac was a member and past Commander of VFW Post # 5356 and a member of American Legion Post # 159, both of St. Clairsville.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Kenneth E. Burrough.
Surviving are his sister, Virginia Burroughs; two nephews; Gerald T. Judy Burrough and Bradley C. Connie Burrough, three nieces; Pat Bob Bland, Charlene Tom Walsh and Linda Burrough, two great nephews and six great nieces.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Monday at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville 43950, where funeral services will be held Tuedsay at 10 AM, with Father Anthony Batt officiating.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Military funeral rites will be presented by the Belmont County Council of the VFW at 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the : Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation, 302 West Main, #100 Avon, CT. 06001-3681.

I serve with Ralph and Louise Green in the Word of Life ministries. Even though I did not know Joe, my heart goes out to the family. I trust they will be comforted by God. All of our future hope is in Christ and this is not the end.

We are members of Joe’s extended family celebrating birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Fouth of July, Memorial and Labor days together. He will be missed greatly.
