NICKOLAS, Joseph Anthony, 71, of Center Wheeling, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. Joseph was born July 13, 1930, in Wheeling, a son of the late Louis J. and Rose T. Hourany Nickolas. He was a retired clerk for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Yorkville plant, a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Roman Catholic Church, Wheeling, and an Air Force veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lilly Hebdo. Surviving are Julia Nickolas Paul, four children, Debra Bailey and her husband, Mike, of Richmond, VA, Anthony Mark Nickolas and his wife, Tanya, of Richmond, VA, Louis Joseph Nickolas and his wife, Sallie, of Wheeling, and Samuel Scott Nickolas and his wife, Lisa, of Bridgeport, OH; two sisters, Cecelia Ellia of Columbus, OH, and Anna Nickolas of Wheeling; a nephew, Samuel J. Hebdo and family; 10 grandchildren, Michael Bailey of Atlanta GA, Jessica and Juliana Nickolas, both of Richmond, VA , Joshua, James, Mattthew and Samuel Nickolas, all of Wheeling, and Jessica, Jason and Justin Nickolas, all of Bridgeport, Ohio. Friends will be received 7-9 pm Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, with the Rev. Bakhos Chidiac officiating. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

I have known Joe since I was a little girl……..going to the picnics at Olgebay Park with my parents….and there was Joe…..always a gentleman. Joe you have been coming into the restaurant
