John W. Burek

Burek, John W., 85, of Bridgeport, OH, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at home.
He was born December 6, 1923 in Moundsville, WV, a son of the late Stanley Burek.
John was a retired employee of Windsor Power Coal and a U.S. Army veteran, having served with the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of the VFW and Eagles, both in Martins Ferry, OH and Moundsville; and the American Legion, Earl Francis Post #3, Moundsville.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Burek; a granddaughter, Willow Kershuk.
Surviving are a son, John A. Jodi Kershuk of Moundsville; a special friend, Helen Brownfield of Moundsville.
Friends received 7-9 pm Thursday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 7, 2009.
Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, OH.
