BRAMBLE, John W., 63, of Wheeling, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at home.
He was an independent insurance agent for Berry-Bippus and Chison Foose Insurance Co.; an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; a Catholic; a member of the American Legion Post No. 1; a member of the Iola Club; Past President of the Bass Masters Federation; was on the Wednesday’s Oglebay Softball Team, and was an avid fisherman and book enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Lucy Sala Bramble. Surviving are his wife, Marlene Miller Bramble; three sons, Jay and his wife, Tammy Bramble of Virginia Beach, Va., Evan and his wife, Becky Bramble of Southern, Md., and Patrick and his wife, Mary Ann of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Karrie Pitner and her husband, Ron of Wheeling, and Amy Ratcliffe and her husband, Chris of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, Justin, Ryan, Mindy, John Eric and Ashley; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Mike Young of Wheeling.
Friends received Thursday from 5 p.m. until time of services at 9 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, with the Rev. Raymond Jablinske officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 98 B East Cove Avenue, Wheeling.
Hello John, we miss you very much, and know you are doing what you do best, reading that damn book in heaven. God is watching your family and they miss you very much.
