JOHN W. “BILL” TAFFE 81 of Bellaire, Ohio died Tuesday April 27, 2010 at the Valley Hospice Care Center South’s Liza’s Place in Wheeling, West Virginia.

He was born May 4, 1928 in Bellaire, Ohio a son of the late Eugene F. and Amanda Viola Jones Taffe.

Bill was a retired surveyor for the Belmont County Engineers, a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio and the Knights of Columbus Council 1246 , Fourth Degree. He was a graduate of the St. John’s High School.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mary Eleanor Taffe and Marion Eugenia “Jeanie” Taffe.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie Nardo Taffe, who he married on April 22, 1957 and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, ohio on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday at the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire at 9:30 am with Msgr. Gene w. Mullett, the Celebrant. Interment in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.

Vigil services will be conducted on Thursday at 2:15 pm at the funeral home.

Aunt Minnie,

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Bill. He always treated all of his nieces and nephews like we were his own children. We will all miss him so much. I am sorry I won’t be there for the services but my heart and prayers are with you and the rest of the family.
