MURAD, John Peter, 78, of Wheeling, died Wednesday May 5, 2004 in Wheeling Hospital.
John was born in Wheeling on January 3, 1926, a son of the late Elias and Mary Debe Saseen Murad.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, a member of the Bridgeport Eagles and the Cave Club; a former Justice of the Peace; a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife in 1991, Cecelia Joseph Murad; five brothers: Joe, Phillip, Louis, Jimmy and George Murad and an infant sister.
John is survived by his wife, Mary DeSilvestri Murad; a son, Mark Murad of Florida; a daughter, Luane Frazier and her husband Richard of Wheeling; a step-daughter, Kathy Campbell and her husband Tim of Dayton, Ohio; a stepson, George Frangos of Wheeling; a brother, Thomas Murad and his wife Millie of Bridgeport, Ohio; two grandsons, Rick and John Frazier; a granddaughter, Mikayla Campbell and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, W.Va.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday May 8, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bakhos Chidiac as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Vigil services will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
