Lagowski, John 92, of Bellaire, Ohio died Wednesday March 18, 2015 at Wheeling Hospital.
John was born May 2, 1922 in Belmont County, Ohio a son of the late Adam and Mary Tokarz Lagowski.
He was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Martins Ferry, OH and a member of the South Bellaire United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Sylvia Zadell Lagowski in 2012, 2 brothers, Joseph and Adam Lagowski, 8 sisters, Stella Chervenak, Edna Janovich, Blanche Gorshe, Helen Kownacki, Mildred Malley , Mary Chepukas,
Genevieve Kondus-Winert and Anne Snezik.
Surviving are his children, Phyllis Starkey of Bellaire, OH, Roger Lagowski of Shadyside, OH, and Janice Patrick Ging of Bellaire, OH, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio Friday from 11am until time of funeral service at 1pm with Pastor James Lish and Pastor Ted Boggs officiating.
Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire, OH, where the Belmont County Veterans Association will conduct Graveside Military Honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the South Bellaire United Methodist Church or Amedisys Hospice.
