John L. Chettle
John L. Chettle 85, of State Route 39, Wellsville, Ohio died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at his home following a 6 month illness.
He was born in Wellsville, Ohio on April 5, 1917 and was the son of the late John ”Jack” and Verna Ruhl Chettle.
Mr. Chettle was a lifelong area resident and a Dairy Farmer.
He is survived by his wife E. Arlene McCloskey Chettle, whom he married, April 5, 1952: a son, Fred M. Chettle and his wife Darlena of Wellsville, Ohio; a daughter, Jo Ann Chettle at home; a brother, Clarence C. ”Red” Chettle of Avon Park, Florida; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary A. Swearingen of Wellsville, Ohio Mrs. Francis R. Curry of Highlandtown, Ohio.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Opal Boyd.
Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, July 28, 2001 at 10:30 AM with Lay Minister, Mary Ann Frischkorn officiating.
Burial will follow in Highlandtown Methodist Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home in Wellsville on Friday, July 27, 2001 from 6-8 PM.
