FRAGALE, John G., 89, of Wheeling, died Monday January 26, 2004 in the Good Shepard Nursing Home, Wheeling.
He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on November 15, 1914, the son of the late Antonio C. and Joanna Mele Fragale. Following the death of his mother, he was raised by his step-mother, Sara Aggazio Fragale.
In addition to his parents and step-mother, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Rose DiBlase Fragale in 1978; a son: William Lee Fragale; a sister, Mary Jablinski; two brothers: Joseph J. and Samuel T. Fragale;
John was retired from the Hundley Motor Company, former employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber; a U.S. Army veteran of WWII; a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus with the Carroll Council # 504; Knights of St. George; a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister.
John is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ruth E. Marsh Markiewicz Fragale; a daughter: Joann G. Weckman and her husband Robert of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Anthony John Fragale and his wife Regina of Cincinnati; two sisters: Katherine Zavolta; Angela Palmer and her husband Robert; two brothers: Dominic J. Fragale and his wife Mary; James J. Fragale and his wife Mary, all of Wheeling; a stepson: John Markiewicz of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two stepdaughters: Nancy Ritter and her husband Mark of Wheeling, Ruth Ann Fragale of Scottsdale, AZ; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove Chapel, Wheeling, W.Va.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated, Friday January 30, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with the Rev. James LaCrosse as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 2244 Marshall Avenue, Wheeling, W.Va., 26003. Vigil services will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear about “Uncle John”. Although I am not thought

of as part of the family anymore,

I still think of Uncle John a lot.

I still remember when Taria gave

him blood and he kept telling us

he had such good blood in him.
