John Daniel Coffield, 67, of Sandy Avenue, Moundsville, WV, died Tuesday, August 7, 2001 in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, GlenDale, WV.

He was the son of the late Cecil and Mary Berisford Coffield. He was president and CEO of FarmFresh Inc. for 39 years. He was a past accountant for Garvins Dairy, a past owner of the former State Food Stores, a past owner of Western Sizzilin Steakhouse, Wheeling, he was also a past board director of United National Bank, a member of the Moundsville Elks lodge 282, he was a Methodist by faith.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth ”Bob” Coffield and infant twin sons.

Surviving are his wife, Twila C. Lemons Coffield; a son, Jon J. of Moundsville, two daughters, Mrs. Paul Vicki Gordon of Moundsville and Mrs. Larry Rita Bratton of McMechen; 2 grandsons, five brothers, Cecil ”Junior”Evelyn of Washington state, MerrittCathy of Oxford, MD, Dale Hazel of Moundsville, Charles Janet of GlenDale, Dexter Sandra of Wheeling, a sister Peggy Gribben of SpringBoro, Oh, several nieces and nephews, four stepgranddaughters.

Friends recieved 2-4/7-9 PM Wednesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV 26041 where services will be held August 9, 2001 at 11:00 AM with Elder Chester Dobbs officiating. Interment in Valley Brook Memorial Gardens, Moundsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2518 Cadillac Ave., Wheeling, WV 26003, the American Heart Assoc. 40 12th Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 or to the donor’s choice.
