McConaughey, John C., 76, of 102 Pennsylvania Avenue, Cameron, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in the Reynolds memorial Hospital, GlenDale. He was born Sept. 21, 1924 in Cameron, the son of the late D. Charles and Nellie Circle McConaughey.
He was the retired owner and operator of the former McConaughey Guest Home in Cameron. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cameron, where he was also an Elder, a 50 year member of the Cameron Masonic Lodge No. 17, he was also a member of the Eastern Star, Lorraine Chapter No. 9, Cameron; the Scottish Rite of Wheeling; the Marshall County Historical Society and the Marshall County Farm Bureau.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Katheryn Fish.
Surviving are his wife, Ila M. Brown McConaughey, two sons, John DavidJanet McConaughey of Cameron, Steven S.Carol Coey of Wayne, NJ, two daughters, Mrs. JamesElizabeth A. Lohner of Huttonsville, WV and Mrs. SteveSusan L. Zaboji of Reston, VA, six grandchildren.
Friends recieved Friday from 7-9 PM and Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, where services will be held Sunday, April 8, 2001 at 2:00 PM with Mr. Mark Crow officiating.Interment at the convenience of the family in Highland Cemetery, Cameron.
